The RPII and PIPA have collaborated to launch the #BounceSafe campaign, with the objective of promoting the industry and encouraging parents and individuals booking inflatables to take necessary precautions to ensure safe usage during the anticipated surge in summer activities. The campaign aims to reduce the occurrence of accidents and injuries.

The inflatable industry has faced significant challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Our survey of RPII operators revealed the following key findings:

  • 56% of businesses have experienced negative financial impacts.
  • 70% of inflatable operators had to temporarily close their businesses.
  • 22% have had to sell equipment.
  • 42% have encountered disruptions to their inspection schedules.

Additionally, our YouGov research indicates public support for the industry, as 15% of respondents express their intention to support local inflatables businesses after the lockdown.

For detailed survey results, please refer to the full report, which can be downloaded in the resources section below.

Operator Refresher

Designed as a condensed version of the RPII’s operator training manual, this document serves as an online refresher course for operators who have not been actively engaged during the lockdown period. It is important to note that this refresher document does not replace the full training and is intended only as a reminder for operators involved in running castles at private homes or private events.

YouGov Research Statistics

As part of this campaign, research was commissioned to assess the level of safety knowledge held by the general public about what to look for when hiring a bouncy castle. We also carried out research amongst our RPII members to see how the industry was affected during the covid pandemic.
